the winter snow,

the flower that lasted through

the forest fire unscathed.

I am the flower that ever grows.

The plum blossom is the national flower of Taiwan; it symbolizes resilience and perseverance. There is a Chinese saying that shares "One cannot get the fragrance of plum blossoms without experiencing bone-chilling cold." It indicates that nothing truly valuable can be obtained without pain and labor. Truly, the challenge to arrive in Taiwan has made the living here sweeter and more valuable. I grow best from challenges.
